Our Operations Team is currently hiring a Pantry Attendant based out of Foster City, CA. As a Pantry Attendant, you will ensure that product in your assigned market remains fully stocked, properly rotated, and appropriately merchandised. The Pantry Attendant will also make sure the market displays remain clean and inviting to leave a lasting impression on our customers in their breakrooms.

Position: Pantry Attendant

Status: Fulltime

Schedule: M-F 40/hrs + possible OT

Location: Foster City, CA

Compensation: $22-25/hr


Description:

  • Proper stocking, facing, and rotation of product.
  • Ensures merchandise is always displayed according to a set plan-o-gram.
  • Ensure displays and fixtures remain neat, clean and sanitary.
  • Conducts accurate merchandise inventories.
  • Interacts with customers and account contacts.
  • Communicates customer or equipment-related concerns or issues to supervisor or technical service department as appropriate.
  • Maintains professional appearance and attitude when onsite at customer location.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:
The Store Attendant is responsible for performing duties associated with the upkeep and maintenance of a Convenience Store (C-Store). The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

General Responsibilities:
  • Operates a cash register (or equivalent), receiving payments (cash, checks or charges) from customers for good/services.
  • Makes change and issues receipts or tickets to customers.
  • Records amounts received and may be expected to total and summarize funds received.
  • Endorses checks, prepares bank deposits and verifies cash at the beginning of a shift.
  • Follows Sodexo cash-handling policies and procedures.
  • Receives, lifts, moves, and stores supplies/goods.
  • Counts, sorts, and weighs inventory, including packaged goods and verifies items on requisitions or invoices.
  • Places orders with vendors.
  • Keeps shelves/racks stocked and rotates stock (if appropriate) to ensure freshness.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of store by sweeping, dusting, mopping, or vacuuming.
  • Provides security for all shop items and cash.
  • Follows all requirements and policies of Sodexo, the facility, local, state, and federal jurisdictions.
  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  • Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • 0 to 1 year work experience.
  • May be required to have knowledge of goods/services sold.
  • Basic math skills required.

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Basic food-handling skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Significant walking or other means of mobility.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location):
  • Generally in an indoor setting, however, may supervise outside activities and events.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
