Paralegal Litagation Specialist Job at United Medical Monitoring
Seeking a Paralegal or Paralegal Litigation Specialist with relevant experienceto assist the Chief Operating Officer and in-house legal counsel in managing medical arbitration cases. This is a large multistate neurosurgical monitoring practice. Duties will include preparing federal NSA arbitration cases, PIP arbitration cases, and Worker's Compensation arbitration cases, from onset through negotiations and all the way to post-judgment. The person in this role will be a team manager and expected to be present in the Firm’s Long Island office 5 days per week (8:30 am – 5pm) and open to advancement and training others.
Responsibilities:
- Help manage, and follow-up on Federal NSA (No Surprises Act) arbitrations, PIP/No Fault arbitrations, and Workers Compensation arbitrations, during all stages of the negotiation and arbitration process.
- Organize and prepare cases for submission to arbitrations by reviewing, finalizing, and compiling documents.
- Coordinate and maintain all arbitration schedules, deadlines, and arbitration calendars.
- Draft, proofread, and format routine correspondence and arbitration documents conforming to applicable rules.
- Submitting arbitration documents via online portals.
- Proactively assume other duties as necessary.
- Meet weekly with the Chief Operating Officer and in-house counsel to review arbitration issues.
The successful candidate will possess a combination of relevant employment, educational, and life experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job. They will be comfortable balancing tasks of varying levels of urgency and complexity and work well under pressure with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
