The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is the sixth largest transportation system in the United States, with a vast network of fixed route services including bus, subway/elevated, trackless trolley, light rail, and commuter rail serving a 2,200 square mile service region.


We are seeking candidates for the position of Part-Time Transit Store Agent in the Comm/Customer Experience & Advocacy. This position is located at SEPTA Headquarters.


SEPTA currently requires all new employees to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination at their pre-employment medical appointment.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Under the general supervision of the Senior Sales Development Specialist, AIDS with the daily operation of the Transit Museum Store. GREETS customers and ASSISTS with purchase of goods. STOCKS merchandise.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • GREETS customers and PROVIDES product recommendations.
  • RESPONDS to customer inquiries.
  • INFORMS customers about sales, promotions, discounts, and store policies.
  • RECEIVES payment for purchases and PROCESSES returns using Clover Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • PROCESSES phone orders and PREPARES for shipping.
  • ASSISTS with implementation of e-commerce including preparing merchandise for sale and shipping.
  • STOCKS merchandise and CREATES displays for windows and walls.
  • INVENTORIES and MONITORS sales floor.
  • CHECKS new arrival merchandise and PROVIDES documentation to management for processing.
  • BUILDS HO scale model trains and trolleys, including detailed painting, and PREPARES them for purchase.
  • PERFORMS other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma.
  • One year of customer service experience in a retail setting.
  • Must possess effective communication skills.
  • Must be customer friendly and possess a desire to assist others.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce preferred.
  • Must pass basic math test and Customer Service scenario video.
  • Must have knowledge of Clover POS system.

MINIMUM NEW EXPERlENCE AND WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON THIS JOB:

  • General knowledge of SEPTA services, modes of transportation, and counties served.

EQUIPMENT US D:

  • Clover POS system, calculator.

PHYSICAL:

  • Standing and moving about: 90%; sitting I0%.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal store environment.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge in HO scale model construction/preparation preferred
