ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Understand, keeps abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local employment and employee relations laws
Work with department managers to recruit, interview, and select qualified employees to hire top quality talent.
Plan and conduct new employee orientations to foster positive attitudes toward company goals.
Ensure that all employees and managers receive appropriate training that clearly defines the dealership's opposition to all forms of discrimination and harassment.
Maintain all employee-related files including individual personnel files and records of insurance coverage, pension plans, hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and any employee-related information or documentation required by the government.
Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation. Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Prepare reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
Represent dealership at personnel-related hearings and investigations. This includes all unemployment cases and workers comp.
Conducts biennial wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rates.
Compile payroll data such as hours worked, sales volume, bonuses, and commissions.
Update master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, etc. Data concerning compensation increases, promotions, and/or transfer of employees between departments.
Prepares and issues paychecks and ensure W-2’s are timely.
Prepare/file all hiring and termination paperwork including COBRA letters.
Oversee the Social Activities Committee with a commitment to building employee enthusiasm.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years Human Resources Experience.
Must know HRIS systems, benefits administration, recruitment and employee relations.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and communicate with all levels of employees.
Degree in Human Resources preferred.
