The Quabbin Regional School District is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to effectively and efficiently process all payroll functions as assist the Director of Administrative Services in matters essential to the effectiveness and efficiency of district-wide programs and initiatives.Some specific job responsibilities include: a) Maintains confidentiality of personnel records.b) Maintains confidentiality of payroll records, including but not limited to gross pay, tax status, payrollwithholdings and garnishments.c) Maintains confidentiality of personnel records pertaining to the Health Insurance Portability and AccountabilityAct (HIPAA) of 1996.d) Assists Director of Administrative Services and Human Resources Manager in preparing salary schedulescenarios for collective bargaining.e) Receives data and computes all payrolls, making deductions for income tax, retirement, savings bonds, healthand medical insurance, and other necessary deductions.f) Processes warrants and prepares for signature as directed by Director of Administrative Services.g) Prepares reports and checks for proper agencies covering all deductions.h) Maintains records covering all deductions.i) Prepares all tax forms relating to payroll matters.j) Works closely with district treasurer, assistant treasurer, Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System,Worcester Regional Retirement System, 403(b) Third Party Administrator and financial advisors, union andcollective bargaining unit officers, and others as needed.k) Keeps record of staff leaves and absences and works with employees and department managers to ensureaccuracy.l) Gathers and reports data for retirement applications and verifications of employment.m) Verifies all amounts before and after checks are processed.Anticipated Work Hours: 6-8 hours/day. Flexible work schedule may be available.Salary commensurate with experience in similar setting
