Are you a pet lover? We are looking to add a mature, reliable and trustworthy Pet Sitter to our growing team. We are looking for a Pet Sitter who is available evenings and weekends (5-15 hours a week) to walk dogs and care for pets in the South Charlotte area, with the opportunity for more work as our company grows. This is a contract position. Pet sitters are paid per completed assignment. This is an awesome second job for someone with a flexible work schedule!

The Pet Sitter's responsibilities include caring for pets as instructed by the owners, and reporting a summary at the end of the appointment to pet owners. We pride ourselves on caring for our clients pets the same way they do!

To be successful as a pet sitter, you should be knowledgeable of animal behavior and capable of caring for all kinds of pets. We care for dogs and cats, but also reptiles, small animals such as hamsters and rabbits, chickens, and fish.

An outstanding pet sitter should be able to perform animal CPR as well as demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and customer service skills. They must be able to look at their schedule and plan their day to make sure they arrive at each visit as requested by the client.

Pet Sitter Responsibilities:

• Meeting with pet owners to gather pet care information and discuss pet sitting duties.
• Providing pets with loving care, fresh water and food as directed.
• Administering medication to pets according to the instructions provided by pet owners.
• Cleaning out litter boxes, cages, and aquariums, as well as changing rodents' and small animals bedding. Picking up dog waste and disposing of it properly.
• Taking dogs out for regular walks and exercising pets as needed
• Providing updates to manager and pet owners, which include communicating with them by text message or over the phone, as well as sending pictures and video of the pet.
• Promptly notifying manager and pet owners of pet illnesses or injuries that may occur.

Pet Sitter Requirements:

• A love for animals is a must!
• High school diploma or GED.
• Patient, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Must pass a background check
• Valid drivers license.
• Your own reliable transportation to get to and from visits.
• A working smartphone for tracking schedule and assignments and communication with clients.
• Proven experience working as a pet sitter.
• Working knowledge of animal behavior.
• The ability to perform (or learn) animal CPR and first aid.
• The ability to care for different animals of various sizes and breeds.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
