SCOPE OF POSITION
The Pharmacy Regulations Specialist assists in monitoring the pharmacy business and operations in accordance with departmental standards, internal and external reporting requirements, accreditation standards, and pharmacy laws and regulations. They organize, evaluate, and validate data collection and reporting functions to ensure the provision of accurate, efficient, and appropriate pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Regulations Specialist reports to internal and external stakeholders for purposes of inclusion and evaluation of pharmacy networks, accreditation, performance improvement and other assigned department functions.
The Pharmacy Regulations Specialist will be responsible for training, coordinating, or overseeing the training and development of pharmacy technicians and/or other support staff for the department as assigned. This individual is responsible for identifying new growth opportunities for the department including but not limited to restricted payer networks, drug access, and/or community provider groups, and other pharmacy opportunities.
The candidate will ensure all pharmacy reporting requirements are met to maintain pharmacy network contracts and accreditations. He/she will identify areas for process improvement and assist with executing plans to improve operational efficiencies and department best practices. The Pharmacy Regulations Specialist will perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 10 years pharmacy or healthcare related experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field is preferred.
Prior leadership, training and/or program development experience required
Knowledge/Skills Abilities:
Self-motivated, strong communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels, excellent organizational skills and manage multiple priorities, ability to maintain confidentiality and observe HIPAA compliance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Office applications, etc)
Must hold or be eligible to hold Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential in time frame dictated by state and/or pharmacy leadership request. Must obtain or be eligible to obtain VA and TN technician licensure.
