The Taylor Site is Samsung's Largest facility in the USA. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC). The Photolithography department focuses on delivering solutions by developing 24x7x365 teams of elite, fab-oriented, excursion-free, safety and quality minded members. As part of the Photo Reticle Engineering team, you will work together to support one another and our customers regardless of organizational boundaries.
Reticle Inspection Engineer will be responsible for maintaining Reticle Inspection tool set pertaining to both EUV and DUV photomasks and responding to fab operational reticle needs.
Specific Job Duties
- Responsible for daily status review of Reticle Inspection tool set
- Responsible for tool qualification, acceptance, training, recipe management, and project execution
- Responsible to develop, maintain, and train against operational SOP, BKMs, and OCAPs
- Responsible for tool uptime, part management and vendor communication
- Responsible for frequent communication on tool status and progress during tool down events
- Responsible for daily troubleshooting setup and run issues
- Responsible for setup of inspection recipes for new products or nodes
- Understanding of basics laser and optics about Reticle inspection systems
- Understanding of basics SEM AND EDX is preferred
- Hands-on experience on Lasertec inspection tools is preferred
- Experience with EUV Reticle inspection is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with Reticle Defect classification, AIMS and Simulation analysis is preferred
- Coordinate Samsung internal, external and multiple vendor resources to provide optimum manufacturing support on assigned equipment. Including equipment installation/de-installation projects, and standard maintenance activities
- Investigate, troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to equipment related defect, quality and yield problems
- Analyze and report tool performance data, including availability, mean time to repair, mean time between failures, particle and defect trends, maintenance success, and similar metrics for assigned equipment
- Innovate & implement new techniques and systems, to improve assigned metrics: safety, cost, reticle outputs, equipment availability, equipment efficiency, product defectivity, overall tool quality, and other metrics assigned. Document these improvements through Best Known Methods, Standard Operating Procedures, action trackers and weekly reports
- Support new device introduction, technology transfer from sister factories
- Attending and contributing in daily tactical meetings with internal and external teams about photolithography equipment. Attending strategic cross functional weekly meetings regarding equipment metrics and contribute to improvement plans
- Provide weekend and night shift equipment coverage as needed
- Prioritize your work in alignment with the photo departments level priorities, and understand your part in achieving company goals
- Assist other team members and areas when possible to help meet production goals
- Work in the Cleanroom to perform day-to-day reticle inspections and disposition of defect reticles if needed
Work environment:
The role of the Reticle inspection engineer will be working in the Class 1 Cleanroom and office area
- While performing the normal duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
- The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee may occasionally be required to lift or move objects up to 25 pounds unassisted.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
- Specific hearing abilities required by this job include being able to react to sounds exceeding 65dB
- Steady hands for reticle handling
- Sudden alarms, sounds exceeding 65dB, yellow/white florescent lighting
- Must be gowned in issued cleanroom attire, which includes but not limited to smock, over boots, nitrile/vinyl gloves, and surgical mask
- B.S. or higher in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical), Optics system, Materials Science, Physics or similar technical degree
- Prefer 5 years of experience in Reticle inspection process and tools, preferably Lasertec inspection tools
- Proficient with data analysis tools, such as complex spreadsheets
- Prefer to have experience with Reticle inspection processes and equipment tools such as Lasertec/KLA inspection tool set and other DR-SEM tools
- High degree of knowledge with Excel and Spotfire is a plus
- Knowledge of scripting language (Python, R, VBA, or JSL preferred)
- Understanding of semiconductor wafer processing fundamentals and photolithography
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Reticle Equipments such as Lasertec and Advantest tools
- Ability to deliver and present reports of a technical nature on short notice
- Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, FDC, yield analysis and other standard engineering and manufacturing practices
- Proficient with data analysis tools, such as JMP, Minitab, matlab and complex spreadsheets
- Problem Solving: Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions, using quality systems like 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and flow charts
- Judgment and Decision Making: Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution for direct reports and equipment
- Time Management: Schedules and prioritizes time and activities to accomplish goals and meet deadlines
- Coordination: Gets members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks

Work Hour Expectations - Shifts, Weekends, Overtime, On call
- Regular Full Time 1st shift; Daily 7:30 am start time (typical hours: 1st Shift Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5pm)
- Intermittent weekend coverage required; 2nd shift/night shift engagement as business need requires
