imi has an immediate opening for an Plant Assistant/Laborer in the greater Kokomo, Indiana area. The main purpose of this position is to support the Plant Manager in the daily running of the facility. Most time with this position will be spent outside in the yard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to all safety policies and procedures concerning the safe running of the plant.
• Ensure all personnel follow proper safety procedures, including the proper use of safety equipment.
• Responsible for the care, cleanliness, and condition of all on-site company assets.

Back-up to Plant Manager in their absence.

• Responsible for the batching and loading of ready mix concrete properly, ensuring the product quality. Training will be offered
• Address and resolve employee issues with help from the local Production team.
• Coordinate customer orders, scheduling, and dispatching with Central Dispatch.
• Record daily use and current inventories of materials to ensure the supply of all materials is adequate.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Must be safety oriented and committed to promoting a safe work environment.
• High School diploma, or G.E.D., required.
• Willingness to learn as training will be offered with an emphasis on how to work and operate our equipment safely.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate and coach plant personnel.
• Supervisory experience a plus.
• Basic computer skills using Google G Suite and MS Office.
• Ability to stand, bend and/or walk long periods of time. Must successfully complete a fit to work physical.
• Ability to work overtime
