LD Mechanical is family owned and has been serving Indianapolis and the surrounding areas since 1972. We specialize in plumbing and HVAC installation in new construction homes and apartments. We are looking for experienced Plumbers and Apprentices or those who are looking to start a career in the field of plumbing. A successful plumber must have a thorough knowledge of water, DWV, and gas systems. They are patient individuals with a practical mind and manual dexterity, able to work efficiently with great attention to detail. The goal is to install and maintain well-functioning systems that transport water, waste, and gas. Starting pay will be based on experience and license status. Other benefits include employer paid tuition for plumbing school, health insurance, paid time off, and 401k retirement plans (15% annual employer match).

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal, water supply, and gas systems
• Cut, assemble and install piping with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring)
• Install water supply systems (PEX-A, PEX-B, CPVC)
• Install and maintain gas systems (Tracpipe, Black Iron Pipe)
• Install waste disposal and sanitary systems with well-functioning DWV systems

Skills

• Proven experience as a plumber
• Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential and commercial buildings
• Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters etc.)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly with a great deal of patience
• Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces
• Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship or willing to enroll (employer paid tuition)
• Valid license to practice profession required for top pay consideration
• Valid driver's license
