Beacon Fisheries is a rapidly expanding company based in Jacksonville, Florida, and is an importer and wholesale distributor of fresh and frozen seafood. Our imports come mainly from Central and South America, with a local dock in St. Augustine, and Fernandina Beach, and a warehouse in Miami. We also utilize Fisherman’s Dock as our retail store for individual customers. A successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, harder worker, and enjoy physical work. This position works primarily in a wet cooler environment. The structure is a seafood warehouse that does everything from shipping and receiving to seafood processing of fresh and frozen items. The hours of this position can vary based on the candidate but ideally would be from 2pm to 10pm.

Responsibilities Include (Not Limited To):

- Receiving orders from vendors and local beacon trucks

- Loading and unloading trucks by hand and with a forklift

- preforming box counts for accuracy of what vendor states they shipped

- Detailed receiving into our computer system

- Down stacking pallets and organizing by product and location

- Cooler organization

- Rotating product to ensure the proper seafood is used first

- re-icing and washing fish to extend dead life expectancy

- Auditing boxes for sizing and weight verification

- vatting fish when large quantities are received

- Handling of shellfish per our shellfish requirements

- Pull and stage orders for shipping

- Clean all areas assigned to you with a hose and/or chemicals

- At times help fish processors complete order

- Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

- Attention to detail.

- Able to work in cold environments for long periods of time.

- Ability to work alone.

- Computer skills preferred.

- Strong work ethic.

- Willing to work on Saturdays.

- Pass drug screening and background check.

- Ability to lift 100 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $18.00 per hour
