MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- 1 Year Assistant Teaching Experience
- Sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six;
OR
- One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six
- Must meet all DCFS requirements, including passing background check.
- Able to stand for long periods of time, frequent walking, sitting on the floor and playing with children, being able to lift up to a 40 lb child in an emergency situation. This is a physically ACTIVE role.
- Hourly pay is based on education, experience, and role
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and cleanly classroom
- Creating an enriching classroom experience with engaging curriculum activities, observational assessments, stimulating interactions, caring relationships and patient, loving care
- Supporting families by building open, constructive relationships
