The Principal Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer reports to the OT Security Senior Manager, and collaborates with Digital Technology (DT), Manufacturing and Engineering stakeholders to deliver security solutions across all Collins factories and labs.

In this Principal Engineer role, you will work with a team of diverse professionals to develop and execute our enterprise approach to manage cyber threats and compliance risk in the Collins OT environments.

This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, deploy and sustain security solutions across these Collins-unique environments, while also providing governance and ensuring adherence to security best practices

  • Provide both hands-on security engineering and consulting-type roles

  • Manage tasks across a wide range of critical priorities, and balance sustaining work (to maintain existing security solutions) with project work (to build and evolve capabilities)

  • Provide technical expertise on projects, handle troubleshooting and escalations

  • Enhance relationships with partner organizations, including the Raytheon (RTX) cyber team, Collins Digital Technology (DT) and with the businesses

  • Support several cross-cutting initiatives, including digital transformation and smart factory investments

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Cyber engineering or operations expertise, preferably with a background in one or more of the following: manufacturing, IOT, SCADA and/or industrial controls.

  • Familiarity with industry standards for OT security (e.g., Purdue model, NIST 800-82)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in aerospace technology, manufacturing, or adjacent industries

  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously and able to operate with minimal supervision in a highly visible, high-pressure environment

  • Ability to manage urgent and competing priorities

  • Strong technical and executive communications skills

  • Eligibility for a clearance with US DOD

  • Strong speaking skills, ability to translate between Engineers/PMs/Leadership

  • Aptitude for project management, problem solving and change management

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Isolation and segmentation strategy in labs and factories Network Firewall/Proxy and Endpoint security

    • Dynamic Objects (Non-Static Endpoints/Servers)

    • RMF OR CMMC/DFARS Compliance Frameworks NAC/ISE (Cisco) Experience/Understanding

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
