Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Beavercreek, OH. facility. We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures, radomes, and antenna systems for military applications. The Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and procuring highly technical customs goods and services from many suppliers and will be knowledgeable of Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), Cost Accounting Standards, Global Supply Chain, Material Specifications, Invoices, Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR), Payments, Risk Management, Small Businesses, Subcontracting and Team Support.
The ideal candidate will be strategically organized, can communicate with internal and external customers, is detailed orientated, able to work with minimal supervision while ensuring compliance and company policies and procedures are followed, be solution oriented with the ability to address problems of moderate scope and complexity, and understands the importance of accurate documentation and record keeping, and multi-tasking of multiple efforts. **This is a 1st shift position working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. This position requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
- Initiate requests for quotations and proposals.
- Analyze proposed pricing from potential suppliers.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability.
- Support required delivery schedules through executing monthly metrics reported to corporate.
- Work with internal customers to ensure proper specifications for services or goods are flowed to the supplier.
- Ensure Cyber, NDA and File Transfer Systems are utilized properly prior to transmission.
- Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
- Utilize and manage process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers and the internal Global Supply Chain Procurement Team
- Manage and maintain Supplier Non-conformance log to ensure material replacements arrive on time and the appropriate payment are executed correctly with the supplier.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 6 years’ relevant experience, (An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree), Master’s degree with 4 years’ relevant experience.
- Experience writing proposals and obtaining quotes.
- Experience working with suppliers.
- Experience leading negotiations.
- Experience working with subcontracts by issuing National and Foreign orders.
- Experience reviewing and approving supplier payment for Service Subcontracts and address invoice discrepancies.
- Utilize and manage process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers and the internal Global Supply Chain Procurement Team.
- Ability to work within MS applications i.e., MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF (with the ability to create, edit, log and track data in spreadsheets).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance including Special Program Access within a reasonable timeframe as required by the business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- 10 years of Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3-5 years’ experience working with suppliers, leading negotiations and writing proposals
