The City of Russellville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Probation Clerk.
Summary The incumbent is responsible to assist the District Judge with implementing court ordered alternative sanctions including conversing with defendants, coordinating programs with community providers and stakeholders as well as maintaining related record keeping.
Essential Duties:

• Assist District Judge before, during and after court.
• Keep accurate records of court decisions and judgments.
• Record docket information accurately (computerized or by hand).
• Handle post court duties and paperwork.
• Help prepare policies and develop programs to be used by the district court in sentencing alternatives.
• Developing plans of action for individual cases including disposition recommendations and program referrals.
• Communicating with offenders including requiring offenders to complete court ordered dispositions which may include referrals to community service work as well as other alternative sanction programs (i.e. GED programs, job training, personal finance classes, mental health and/or substance abuse counseling, etc.)
• Maintain personal contact with offenders.
• Investigate employment, sources of income, lifestyle, and associates to assess risk and compliance. Address substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence, and similar problems.
• Other duties as assigned

Must be able to maintain confidential records and work well with others. H.S. diploma required and 12 -18 months related experience. Degree preferred.
Computer & organization skills should include proficiency in Word, Excel and other related software.
