Shaw Industries is recruiting for a Process Improvement Engineer to support the operations of our Samples & Sample Distribution, located in Dalton, GA, through process improvement initiatives and data automation.

Responsibilities:
- Must be able to conduct analysis and give recommendations based upon collection of data through the use of reports, observations, and time studies; Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Principles & methods as the primary drivers of continuous improvement.
- Maintain SUMM scorecard, cost reduction initiatives and 6 Sigma Performance for the plants.
- Must be able to prepare capital & expense project proposals (requires CPM training) for new equipment, modifications and upgrades, including calculating savings and ROI.
- Work with Plant / Department Manager(s) to improve manufacturing processes through efficiency improvements, safety, and quality.
- Coach/Mentor Leaders for all Plant Green/Black Belt Projects
- Assist with preparation of capital project budget list for the plant on an annual basis.
- Generate utilization & waste reports as well as understand Efficiency & POVA’s (with the ability to investigate variances). Coordinate and communicate Waste initiative both process & landfill waste.
- Conduct time studies as needed in the various manufacturing areas. Assist in layout changes for the plant or any departments within the plant.
- Complete analysis work to determine automation opportunities for the Samples Manufacturing and Distribution locations.
- Responsible for periodic inventories of raw materials, WIP, & packaging materials.
- Work within Power Platform to build reports in Power BI, use Power Query and seek processes that can be improved with Power Apps and then build out those processes.
Position Requirements:
- Four (4) year college degree in Industrial Engineering or similar field, or Senior college student with one year or less to complete engineering degree.
- 1+ years' experience manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of Data Automation/Analytical metrics/Scorecards
- CAD experience = Preferred
- Must be Black Belt trained (or willing to attend training)
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
