Producer / Editor, ABC News, Washington DC Job at ABC News
ABC News is looking for a highly motivated and qualified professional for a full-time editor position based in the Washington DC Bureau. The ABC News Washington Bureau is one of the largest bureaus in DC and produces content for all ABC News platforms, including ABC News Studios and HULU. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a cutting-edge network level broadcast & digital operation.
Shifts are 8+ hours and include work outside of normal business hours, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-house editing, remote editing, and virtual editing with various software such as Avid Media Composer and Adobe After Effects.
- Deliver fully edited news stories using strong visual storytelling skills in a fast-paced news environment.
- Create Graphics from stills and Video via Adobe After Effects.
- Keep up with emerging technologies in the broadcast editing workflow.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work with, and without, direct supervision, and multi-task efficiently.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of news editing experience and a strong background in non-linear editing workflows
- Proficient in Avid Media Composer, Interplay and Adobe After Effects.
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced breaking news environment with tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with producers, correspondents, and anchors as well as being able to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of multiple video formats, color correction, audio finishing, and effects.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
