Merola Tile is a leading national tile distributor that proudly imports high quality, on-trend and emotionally inspiring tiles from around the world to suit a diverse flooring market.
The NJ Division of Merola Tile employs approximately 125 people and distributes tile in the U.S. and Canada through The Home Depot, independently owned tile showrooms, and numerous e-commerce retailers under the Merola Tile, SomerTile, and Elite Tile brand names. OBJECTIVE:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical management, supervision, and control of Sample and Mosaic production. Maximize productivity and efficiency by implementing improved processes. Work closely with all departments to help achieve companywide goals.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead daily kick off meetings
- Oversee the 3 Departments that make up the Production Team (Returns, Samples, Mosaic Manufacturing)
- Hire, Train, and develop employees
- Ensure that all Company policies are enforced
- Report and correct any safety concerns/violations
- Identify and communicate packaging trends from Returns
- Maximize order fulfillment output while maintaining accuracy
- Implement universal packaging methods that meet the Company’s standards
- Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
- Promote a positive and team-oriented work environment
- Conduct monthly 1 to 1s with all personnel to increase employee engagement
- Run daily reports to monitor production rates
- Create and implement SOPs for all Production Teams
- Order and maintain proper supply levels
- Responsible for the strategic planning of the production team
- Prioritize all tasks and projects within the team
- Perform employee reviews
- Work with Operations Manager to define and execute SOP’s
- Assure Quality and Quantity of work through the team and supervisors
- Assure training and resources needed to maximize performance of the teams
- Manage relationships with outside vendors
- Assess and evaluate the productivity of all manufacturing equipment
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- No degree necessary – High School preferred
- Prior Management experience preferred
- Basic knowledge and use of hand and power tools, including drills and saws

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 75 lbs. several times during the shift.
