Job Summary:
Directs and coordinates activities of the harvest department(s) in processing meat processing facility, while improving the efficiency of manpower, yields, materials and machines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties:
- Leads and manages employees in the harvest department, ensuring they work efficiently and effectively.
- Schedules production, sets departmental goals, and manages departmental budgets and production forecasts.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, including USDA, FDA, EPA, and OSHA.
- Implements and maintains safety standards in the department, as required by law and company policy.
- You will be spending 90% of the day on the production floor.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent communication skills.
- USDA and food processing experience.
- Knowledge of basic math and the ability to calculate figures and amounts.
- Good computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, and in areas with fumes or airborne particles.
- Variable temperature conditions, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Minimal travel may be required to attend work-related events, training, and other company locations.
- Must be able to work in fast pace, high volume production floor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages multiple employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
