Do you have leadership experience?


The Production Manager of the Paper Mill, has overall responsibility for the R6 paper machine production line to ensure achievement of all safety, quality, productivity, environmental, cost, and people development objectives. You will also monitor critical KPIs measuring the paper machine areas and implement the appropriate corrective measures to address deficiencies, utilizing continuous improvement techniques.

About the Job

  • Following Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures, and policies, as applicable, to the position’s areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
  • Leading the R6 production line
  • Leading continuous improvement efforts in their work area, writing and achieving annual budgets by Business Unit area and developing capital plans to achieve short and long term performance goals.
  • This person is responsible for the management, training and development of the paper machine shift managers, process engineers and the paper machine crews in a unionized environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews and improvement plans with their direct reports
  • Weekend duty and on call requirements

Skills For Your Success

  • Minimum of 7 years of paper making experience.
  • Supervisory experience, along with continuous improvement skills
  • Bachelor’s degree – in Pulp/Paper Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry work experience
  • Must possess a safety mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people
  • Exercise a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple critical assignments simultaneously
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess good teamwork, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and conflict management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and meet budget
  • Ability to quickly learn JDE, ParcView, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable working in a union environment.
