The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Program Coordinator will work in partnership with the Care Services team in their efforts to provide programs and services to the ALS community. Specifically, this position manages our Durable Medical Equipment Loan Program and other programs as assigned.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Management of the territory’s Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Loan program with activities including:
- Identify and process Durable Medical Equipment for individuals that are requested through our loan program
- Respond as main point of contact for all equipment related questions.
- Field questions via phone or email related to durable medical equipment from people with ALS, family or friends and health care professionals
- Provide documentation of all interactions in electronic database
- Remotely manage DME inventories at different locations and on-site inventory at NuMotion with CS staff
- Work with staff and DME vendors to complete yearly on-site inventories
- Participate in annual Audit preparation alongside the Care Services Director
- Order items for DME Loan Closet overseeing budgetary considerations as requested and with approval of the Managing Director of Care Services
- Responsible for maintaining yearly contracts with equipment vendors
- Collaborate with point persons at each inventory site to ensure they follow a clear and consistent process. Provide training on the same.
- Actively develop knowledge of Territory programs and services for people with ALS and their families
- Assist with QOL and other grants documentation and other programs as needed, such as bereavement and other programs
- Work with volunteers in managing programs
- Ensure a high level of confidentiality
General
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a range of people including, but not limited to, the Care Services Team, ALS community, volunteers, and other ALS Association departments to meet territory goals and objectives

- Actively participate in appropriate committee and work groups within and outside The Territory, including the Care Services Committee
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure

- Some physical duties are required: able to lift 50 lbs; bend; stoop; sit for long periods of time; walk up and down 1 flight of stairs
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Directors Care Services
Skills
- College degree preferred in allied health field or social services
- Preferred: 2-3 years experience with durable medical equipment
- Expertise required on complex rehab devices
- Microsoft Office software, Google products
- Database Management; knowledge of Salesforce preferred

The ALS Association’s pay range for this position is $20.51 - $24.36 per hour.
The ALS Association has compensation ranges for various work locations throughout the United States, allowing us to compensate employees competitively and consistently in diverse geographic markets. The above-listed listed range shows prospective compensation for this role; the appropriate range will be established by what is eventually determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis. Offers are made within the compensation range that is in effect at the time of the job offer.
The Association may, at its discretion, offer merit-based increases tied to individual performance. The benefits listed may differ depending on employment status with the Association.
