PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Program Director is responsible for the overseeing of day to day operations at assigned club locations, supervision of staff and volunteers, coordinates the training of agency personnel on programs; oversees the development and implementation of new programs; plans, develops, monitors and assesses the implementation of programs and services; works with assigned external organization in coordination of programs; conducts various community relations activities and events; and performs related work as assigned.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Ensure an environment, programs & services prepare youth for success.
2. Ensure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and ensure programs/activities respond to member needs.
3. Contribute to the planning and implantation of agency’s strategic plan.
4. Supports Organizational membership goals to include recruitment, retention, and attendance
5. Program management- responsible for coordinating the delivery of grant programs to meet agency performance standards and grant requirements.
6. Plan and implement a staff development and training program.
7. Manage performance of assigned staff in achieving goals, providing technical assistance in program design, development, community relations and program operations.
8. Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Clubs’ annual budget, ensuring that agency programs and activities are operated within established budgetary guidelines.
9. Fulfills Human Resources functions including hiring practices and employee engagement.
10. Manages staff hours to budget and policy. Ensure time cards are completed and correct.
11. Ensure facilities meet all Club expectation in the areas of safety, cleanliness, and appearance.
12. Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families and community organizations.
13. Support board committees, as assigned.
14. Participate in activities to maintain public trust in Club programs, services and activities.
15. Assist in the administration of restricted programs by overseeing program operations at each location; ensure the completion of required reports; and prepare any required interagency reports.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close contact with assigned staff to provide technical assistance in matters of programming and operations; interact regularly with Director of Operations and as assigned, with the Board of Directors and its committees.
External: Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, and others.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of five years work experience in nonprofit operations management and supervision, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; and the principles and practices of nonprofit organizations
- Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations; in personnel supervision, ability to recruit and retain key personnel; oversee facilities management; and manage budgets
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions with limited supervision
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, subordinates, board members, community groups, and other related agencies
- Must obtain/maintain a current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Certification (within first 90 days of employment)
- Working knowledge of federal and state laws and company policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain and cultivate excellent community relationships and possess excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to interact effectively and communicate (in writing and orally) with a variety of members, local government entities, neighborhood groups, agencies, schools and volunteers. Must also have the ability to effectively communicate with and maintain productive and effective working relationships with organization staff and management in accomplishing goals and objectives
- Ability to articulate for giving, serve as an ambassador, engage in relationship building and promote philanthropy
- Ability to travel between Boys & Girls Clubs of Stanislaus County branches and schools as needed

Pay: $32,243.00 - $45,000.00 per year
