Backcountry Wellness provides treatment programming for children, adolescents and adults who live with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake, Orthorexia, and Other Specific Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED).
Job Summary:
The Program Director is a licensed clinician responsible for top-down clinical oversight of the Backcountry Wellness IOP/PHP program. The Program Director oversees daily programming, interfaces with parents, manages patient care, and works alongside staff to ensure smooth clinical operations each day. The Program Director reports to the Executive Clinical Director, but fully manages clinical operations at the IOP/PHP program and upholds a proactive leadership role, leads case discussions on their patients and collaborates successfully with the comprehensive treatment team and the patient’s family to maximize treatment effectiveness and facilitate successful outcomes for patients in the IOP/PHP program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage first-day patient orientation
- Build relationships with parents to establish rapport early on and generate a dialogue within the treatment process between patient and family
- Assist with biopsychosocial assessment and develop a treatment plan within the first week of admission to generate a clear method of clinical execution and time-based goals
- Educate clients on their comprehensive treatment plan and communicate strategies, goals and targets throughout the duration of treatment
- Manage individual caseload and provide Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, and Family Therapy as necessary
- Run a selection of therapeutic groups in the IOP/PHP program
- Coordinate with patient support staff such as Family Therapist, Registered Dietitian and Care Coaches to ensure effective execution of the treatment plan
- Generate discharge summaries and a post-discharge maintenance plan for caseload clients
- Generate and maintain detailed documentation and comprehensive charting throughout the patient’s progress in treatment
- Maintain punctuality and attendance in order to uphold program and treatment consistency and reliability
- Provide insights and feedback to senior management on program operations, staffing, and patient care
- Drive best practices within the workplace including dress, personal conduct, modes of communication, privacy and regulatory compliance
- Engage individual staff members and the full treatment team to impart team-related goals and clinical areas of improvement
- Present relevant cases in Clinical Rounds in a clear and comprehensible manner and assist with transitions across treatment platforms when necessary
- Attend all training, education and staff enrichment activities
- Understand and embody the core values of Backcountry Wellness
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Conduct direct supervision of patients
- Build camaraderie and teamwork within the treatment team to maintain positive morale
- Lead by example and demonstrate proper handling of challenging client situations, convey empathy with patients and parents alike, demonstrate how to generate constructive solutions and maintain an energized, professional and positive attitude
- Leverage expertise to provide customized treatment recommendations to the larger clinical team for implementation
- Provide year-end reviews of staff members with the Executive Clinical Director including one-on-one feedback sessions
- Working knowledge of evidence-based treatments
- Train and support incoming and existing treatment team members and ensure the program’s values are upheld across the platform
Qualifications:
- Licensed clinician in Connecticut or New York
- Significant experience in an eating disorder or behavioral health setting is strongly preferred
- Strong background of psychopathology, eating disorders, psychotherapy treatment methodologies, and clinical measurement techniques strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of evidence-based treatments
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a leadership team
- Experience with managing Electronic Health Records software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
