Summary

The Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center (CPFRC), located within the Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Program Manager. The position also involves supervising staff involved in the conduct of the training program as assigned.

Responsibilities*

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

This position will oversee and be responsible for a national training program for early career clinician-scientists. The Program Manager will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the training program. The ideal candidate for this position is able to function fairly independently with limited supervision after a period of on-boarding. This position reports to the senior program manager for the CPFRC.

Day-to-day administrative responsibility for the program will be provided by the Program Manager which will include but not limited to administrative aspects of recruiting and selecting scholars, matching scholars with mentors, coordinating the activities of the K12 Advisory Committee (AC), setting meeting agendas, hosting invited speakers, monitoring trainee progress, program budgeting, and facilitating interactions with the CCNPS. The Program Manager will also facilitate the K12 AC in the development of both mentoring and career development guidelines and evaluation. The Program Manager will also manage administrative details for the paperwork, processing site-related memoranda, and coordinating local training experiences and scholar’s travel arrangements.

Required Qualifications*

  • Master's Degree
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated positive work ethic
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills, Microsoft office, email system and the internet
  • Experience with and willingness to perform public speaking activities and travel

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience working within a large, complex healthcare/research setting.
  • Experience in academic/educational program management
  • Degree in health administration.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
