Department Summary:

L212 contains MITRE Enterprise Program and Risk Management thought leaders. The department is composed of recognized subject matter experts, who are proficient in a suite of program and risk management skills including: leading people, project communications, scope management employing Agile, establishing program metrics, developing schedules, and more. The Enterprise Program & Risk Management department provides support across a wide range of MITRE portfolios, employing ~ 90 highly qualified and experienced staff.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of up to 9 group members
  • Work in partnership with Project Leaders on an as required and on-going basis to align staff member goals to project outcomes
  • Facilitate the professional and career development of assigned staff members through positive leadership, coaching, communication, and recognition
  • Participate in development of department and division strategies
  • Leads department staff in the development of department capabilities
  • Outreach of department capabilities to other MITRE organizations
  • Participate in department recruiting activities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 8-10+ years of experience, or Masters degree with 6 – 8+ years of experience.
  • BA/BS in a technical (e.g., Engineering or Computer Science), business, or management field
  • Basic knowledge of project, program and risk management as would be evident by a Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
  • Task leadership or other supervisory experience
  • Experience in a leadership role on a project for a Federal government sponsor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detailed knowledge of project management domain areas including program, project, and risk management
  • Demonstrated success in the application of project management domain areas
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing staff members
  • Experience in developing an organizational strategic vision
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance
