- Evidence of ability to assess student learning outcomes and/or other measures of successful academic program delivery.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings.
- Terminal degree
- 3 or more years teaching academic success courses for first-year college students as instructor of record
- Experience working with faculty
- Experience with faculty professional development
- Experience in course or academic program development
- Knowledge of best practices in first-year success courses and first-year programming
- Knowledge of instructional technologies (e.g., Canvas).
- Experience managing a budget
- Coordinates the daily, ongoing operations of the University Seminar program.
- Coordinates with First-Year Advising and other first-year services and supports across campus.
- Supervises and supports US 1100 faculty.
- Maintains or creates syllabus templates, lesson plans, and other teaching resources for faculty.
- Recruits or assists in recruiting faculty to teach US 1100.
- Assesses US 1100 course outcomes.
- Develops, conducts, and assesses ongoing comprehensive professional development for faculty teaching US 1100.
- Interfaces with instructional technologies to provide effective learning management system tools for US 1100 faculty, including US 1100 Canvas course templates.
- Coordinates and attends regular meetings of the US 1100 Faculty Mentoring Group.
- Working with the Assistant Vice President and the US 1100 Faculty Mentoring Group, facilitates curriculum development.
- Serves as a resource for students and faculty.
- Represents University Seminar to internal and external constituencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
