Job Summary
Estrella Mountain Community College is hiring a Nursing Clinical Coordinator & Compliance Specialist (Program Specialist) to support the Nursing division. This position provides program-level support is responsible for coordinating clinical placements and onboarding all new nursing students to Estrella Mountain to ensure compliance with the outlined health & safety requirements. This position is responsible for orientation & compliance events, collaboration with District Healthcare Team, clinical and compliance system support, operational planning, problem resolution, development of training materials, and technical assistance.

This position has an expected end date of June 30, 2025.
Please note per the Affordable Care Act (ACA), once the short-term assignment ends the incumbent will not be eligible to work in a part-time or Adjunct position within MCCCD for 26 weeks.
Essential Functions
40% - Onboarding and maintenance of EMCC students compliance for all Maricopa and clinical agency health, safety, and clinical compliance in American Databank and My Clinical Exchange; Primary point of contact for students & faculty, internal and external stakeholders; generate student compliance reports, and communicate the status to the Department Chair. provide excellent customer service in person, online, and by phone. Coordinates, implements and evaluates processes and procedures. Conducts student compliance orientation, and information sessions. Designs, develops, maintains, and delivers onboarding documents, reports, presentations, correspondence, and program documentation.Assists in executing other health and safety compliance outreach and planning, and participates in the MCCCD health & safety annual committee review; Provides program policy and process information to students, faculty, staff, and the public
30% - Identifies clinical needs for the program in collaboration with faculty & Department Chair; participates in Clinical Coordination; facilitates resolution of internal conflicts before and during the consortium coordination processes. Negotiates, and collaborates to ensure EMCC receives the required clinical placements; Provides support in identifying alternative clinical sites, and establishes partnerships within and external to the consortium. Enters all clinical groups into My Clinical Exchange and works with the consortium and clinical agencies to ensure approval; Upon approval enter all students and faculty into groups to begin the compliance phase. Independent evaluation and analysis of issues and use of judgment to select and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to resolve problems and make recommendations; Development of goals, clinical budget monitoring, materials development, marketing and serves as a liaison to constituencies addressing program needs; collaborates with others; and provides program representation to clients and partners. Performs program/project research and analysis; researches clinical trends and performs data analysis and reporting; Participates in strategic planning; Responds to inquiries and issues; evaluates issues and researches alternative solutions; and provides recommendations to Chair and/or District; Participate in District Healthcare, Maricopa Nursing, and Estrella Mountain Community College meetings.
30% - Clinical, lab, and simulation experiences throughout the program in coordination with Division Chair and block leads. Other duties as assigned commensurate to the grade level of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of full-time equivalent program support experience.
Desired Qualifications
A. Experience in Healthcare Education Clinical Coordination for students.
B. Experience coordinating strict deadlines and prioritizing competing demands for a heavily regulated program.
C. Experience interpreting and applying healthcare agency regulations and standards to create orientation materials and reports for a wide variety of stakeholders.
D. Experience providing customer service to diverse and minoritized populations, e.g, first-generation, refugee, Latinx, American Indian, African-American, LGBTQ, homeless, and/or students in foster care.
E. Experience utilizing a computer to navigate multiple specialized software applications ( American DataBank, MyClincial Exchange, Online Clinical Orientation, or similar program) and Word processing & spreadsheet programs ( Microsoft Word, Excel, or Google shared documents).
