CAM Assesor Technician: The CAM Assessor Technician is a member of the Hospital Delirium Program at MSH who primarily engages in the assessment of hospitalized medical and surgical patients for the presence of Delirium and a pre-Delirious state. This entails reviewing patients designated as high risk for Delirium, ensuring that these patients are assessed utilizing medical chart review, caregiver and treatment team reports and direct patient assessment; with the results recorded in the electronic medical record appropriate flowsheets. In addition to fulfilling these roles, Delirium Assessor And Interventionists spend part of their day providing behavioral/cognitive and environmental based interventions to complement the medically-based treatment of Delirious patients

  • Requirements:\

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Psychology, Neuroscience, or related fields, or, a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree with pre-medical undergraduate educational track.

  • Highly familiar and comfortable with widely available computer programs, and able to learn how to work within an electronic medical records system.
  • Interested in learning about the diagnosis, causes and treatment of delirium in the hospitalized geriatric patient population.
  • Able and willing to work with hospitalized medical and surgical patients and their families and caregivers in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Able and willing to work with medical and nursing staff involved in the care of the patients being evaluated, in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development.
  • Willing to make a two year commitment.
  • trong background in psychology, neuroscience or biological sciences.
  • xperience working with patients in a volunteer or paid position, or subjects participating in research.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a clinical career in psychology, mental health counseling, medicine, nursing or clinical research.

The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $60,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
