SwimRVA is committed to Drownproofing Richmond and needs your help to teach every child and every adult in the region to swim! Qualified candidates will have excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to cultivate strong relationships, loves to create engaging activities, while ensuring safety of our program participants. Previous swim instruction and/or competitive swimming experience preferred.This position will require non-traditional hours to include evenings, early mornings, and weekends. The SwimRVA Swim School Programs Coordinator job duties:

• Manage a wet classroom consistent with SwimRVA's unique teaching platform
• Effectively teach swimming skills and water safety to children and adults
• Creatively incorporate diverse and fun activities into lessons
• Assess participants swimming skills for appropriate station placement and advancement
• Assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating training for Swim School coaches and camp counselors.
• Assist with initial training and the on-going development of all SwimRVA swim coaches.
• Assist with business growth and attracting new customers.
• Demonstrate responsibility in regards to work schedule, meetings and trainings

Qualifications:

• A positive attitude and work ethic
• A love for teaching, water, and aquatics programing
• A desire to grow professionally through aquatics
• High School degree required
• Swimming experience preferred
• Ability to work in high stress conditions, using critical thinking, and customer service savvy
