Responsibilities:

Quantity Take-off and Estimation

  • Quantity take-off of construction materials needed on a day-to-day basis to carry out construction.
  • Estimating the total cost material and labor of the current project.

Preparation of Monthly Schedule

  • Providing Monthly Schedule Updates to overview the progress of the project.
  • Identifying the critical path of the current project.

RFI Drafting and Submittals

  • Providing Submittals to the AOR, RFIs, Change Order if required during construction.

Monitoring Field Contract work

  • Responsibility also includes attending by-weekly meetings and coordination between Architect, Owner, vendors, Subcontractors and reporting weekly updates to the company president.

Monitoring project progress; coordinating activities.

  • Supporting day to day construction activities of the project, scheduling the inspections, procuring the materials, and completing the specific task in given time.

Procurement of Construction Materials

  • Identifying the long lead materials and ordering them to prevent any delays in the project.

Monitoring Field Contract work

  • Following the contract documents, drawing and specifications to maintain the quality of the construction and following the correct construction methods to complete the construction project.

Submittals Management

  • Preparation of material Submittals including specifications, product data sheet etc.
  • Tracking the approval of the submittals and documenting of details on Submittal Log.

Change Order Management

  • Obtaining the change order from client for additional scope of work, other than what is specified in the contract.
  • Preparation of proposals for additional work and negotiation of proposal with the client

Construction Safety Management

  • Enforcing the safety rules and standards of OSHA and NYC Department of Buildings to ensure the safety of the workers and build a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Educating the workers on safety of the tasks to be performed by providing Job Hazard Analysis and Toolbox Tasks.

Resource Management

  • Obtaining material quotes from vendor, negotiating, and creating Purchase Orders.
  • Tracking the utilization of the materials purchased and analysis of the amount of wastage and implementing measures to reduce wastage.

Preparation of Shop Drawings

  • Drafting of shop drawings on AutoCAD based on the contract drawings to present the means and methods of task execution.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in civil, engineering or Construction Management.
  • Must have some experience in New York City Government agency.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Primavera, Microsoft Office.
  • Must know the ins and outs of job site operations.
  • Must have knowledge of masonry, façade, roof and exterior Improvements with government agencies and public sector works.
  • Must be familiar with the NYC Building Code.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
