Andrew Morgan Consulting, LLC (AMC) seeks a Project Manager to join our team supporting the VA Office of Patient Advocacy (OPA). A successful candidate will be expected to manage a prime contract with VA, understand the requirements, communicate with clients, and execute strategic modernization. The individual must both understand and effectively communicate the current and future state of process improvement, data analyses and organizational change management activities in healthcare environments. The Project Manager must partner with government customers to understand mission requirements, identify pain points and oversee organizational change that provides tangible results to Veterans.

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is America’s largest integrated health care system, providing care at 1,293 health care facilities, including 171 medical centers and 1,112 outpatient sites of care of varying complexity (VHA outpatient clinics), serving 9 million enrolled Veterans each year. Within VHA, the Office of Patient Advocacy’s (OPA) mission is to honor American’s Veterans through the delivery of world class advocacy services to advance and influence the health care of our Veterans. To be effective as an organization, it is necessary for OPA to be consistent with the following priorities: 1) strengthen Veterans’ trust in VA by providing world class customer service while resolving their concerns expeditiously, 2) systemically analyze trends and evaluate opportunities to improve processes and provide guidance on the journey towards high reliability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets using Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with VA customers and partners.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary Point of Contact for VA customer communications including contract deliverables and modifications, project status updates and outcomes.
  • Communicate project progress, status updates, and issues to all stakeholders.
  • Manage project resources, including AMC employees and subcontractors to ensure project deliverables are met on time.
  • Prepare briefings, studies, and develop reports for presentations to VA senior executive-level stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic direction setting and input for process improvement, organizational change management, workforce development and data analytics teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 8 years of relevant experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the Healthcare Industry, with preference for relevant and recent experience with Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Experience with project management and implementation, change management, and client management.
  • Experience managing government contracts, preferably with the VA or other healthcare organizations.
  • Understanding of the federal government operations, program evaluation, and change management processes.
  • Demonstrate experience to assess and engage subject matter experts in addressing potential gaps or risks.
  • Demonstrate experience to prioritize and rank requirements from a stakeholder’s perspective.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Work Location

  • 100% Remote, with occasional travel to client meetings in Washington, DC.

Travel

  • Occasional travel to Washington, DC. Approximately once per quarter.
