We are seeking a full-time Project Manager/Estimator to lead our team. This position requires initiative, time management, flexibility, great communication, strong math and computer skills, and a positive attitude. Martinson’s team will give you the training and support to help you succeed.
Job Description: PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR

Key Qualifications
● High School Diploma or equivalent required
● Valid state Driver’s License in required categories
● Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory position preferred
● Background in asphalt, construction and/or mechanical industry preferred
● Demonstrated ability to manage projects and teams positively and effectively
● Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills
● Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel, Word and Outlook
● Ability to work in an occasionally physically demanding role (walking, pushing, bending, reaching, etc.)
● Ability to lift 50 lbs

Bonus Experience
● Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction and maintenance of parking lots including subgrade preparation, asphalt paving, concrete, crack sealing, seal coating and striping
● Experience operating large vehicles and equipment, including loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, backhoes, graders, heavy trucks, snow blades, etc.
● Experience in calculating labor, materials and other project costs to provide cost-effective service estimates
● Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools
● Experience with QuickBooks
Key Responsibilities
● Interact with large existing customer base and potential customers
● Develop knowledge of products, services, labor, and any other components or costs associated with a customer’s request for service to create estimates for service
● Visit ‘request for estimate’ properties to identify service and repair needs, including measurements and pictures
● Present estimates to customers and follow up promptly with customers on pending projects
● Prepare field work orders, project documents, and materials purchasing for each project
● Plan, prioritize, schedule, and effectively communicate field crew’s assignments to ensure approved projects are completed properly, safely, in a timely fashion, and on budget
● Prepare and send billing statements for completed projects
● Identify inefficiencies and/or areas for improvement and work with the team to help develop solutions to correct
● Schedule repair & maintenance services of equipment and vehicles
● Coordinate and assist winter snow removal crew
● Order supplies and parts, as needed
● Explore avenues to expand customer base
● Occasionally participation in trade shows and/or local business networking events
● Develop and maintain positive relationships with company customers, vendors, managers, and employees
● Work effectively and represent the company’s interest with both internal and external stakeholders
● Other duties, as assigned
