Project Manager I, Biotechnology Job at Antibody Solutions
We are seeking a Project Manager I to join our Project Management team. The successful candidate will work with a team dedicated to client interaction, project research and planning, project tracking, and providing laboratory guidance for projects. Responsibilities include client communications, data analysis and interpretation, project planning and scheduling, and coordination with laboratory departmental supervisors. Responsibilities:
- Assess clients’ needs and provide scientific guidance and recommendations in support of their program goals and milestones.
- Create, organize, and manage project proposals, estimates, and work orders for custom Antibody Discovery services.
- Manage, monitor, and track benchmarks and milestones of ongoing antibody discovery projects.
- Communicate with clients and provide insights regarding project status, data, and results, and manage expectations for ongoing and future work.
- Interact with other project managers and department supervisors to coordinate scheduling and provide guidance/feedback for ongoing projects.
- Identify, research, and troubleshoot challenges within projects.
- Provide support to administrative and operations staff including invoicing for completed services and communicating requests for reagents, materials, and equipment in support of antibody discovery projects.
- Assist in marketing activities to promote services, including occasional travel for trade shows and scientific conferences.
- Coordinate implementation of new technologies in support of antibody discovery.
- Work independently and prioritize daily tasks for multiple ongoing projects.
- Be a supportive team member in a dynamic R&D environment.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or higher degree in a biology-related field, such as Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc. (Required).
- US work authorization (Required).
- Project management experience is not required but the candidate will typically have 3-4 years of industry experience in a biological field or related discipline.
- Ability to independently research target biology, including relevant literature and publications, to propose potential strategies for antibody generation appropriate to clients' intended applications.
- Hands-on knowledge in a variety of laboratory techniques which could include immunization, tissue harvest, cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, bioconjugation, recombinant protein expression, purification, sequencing, and transfection. Expertise in a particular area of specialty is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
- Ability to identify/communicate priorities to department supervisors.
- Self-motivated and flexible with a strong work ethic.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
Other Requirements:
This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk. May require occasional lifting of items approx. 25-30 lbs. Work must be performed at our worksite in Santa Clara, CA 95054. You must be available to work in the immediate future. You must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work. This position does not qualify for reimbursement of relocation expenses. About the Job: This is a full-time position, typically 40 hrs/week, M-F, within the hours of 8 am-6 pm. You will report to the Director of Project Management.
