University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) is a non-profit, university-affiliated study abroad organization headquartered on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Marketing and Communications Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the production of marketing campaigns, delegating tasks, and overseeing project execution. This person will have strong planning, leadership, and analytical skills.
POSITION TYPE and EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, exempt position and will be paid on a salary basis. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may fluctuate, or additional work hours may be required. Infrequently, weekend and evening work hours may also be required.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy-execution planning, task mapping, and project oversight – 75%
- Works with Advancement and Engagement team to plan and track the execution of communications and marketing strategies
- Oversees day-to-day project management to ensure all tasks are mapped out, delegated, and completed in a timely manner
- Serves as a resource and consultant to Central Office and international staff, which can include project-scope meetings, creating and maintaining procedural documentation, providing training sessions, scheduling, etc.
- Creates production schedules and content calendars, gathers all necessary details for internal marketing requests
- Confirms accuracy of program details and provides edits as needed
- Communicates with students and alumni for feedback and scheduling
- Implements email marketing and digital advertising strategies to drive enrollment and engage with prospective students
- Gathers competitive bids and manages vendor communications
- Works closely with vendors to ensure all marketing collateral is produced and distributed according to schedule and deadlines
Organization and reporting – 25%
- Updates third-party directories and maintains accuracy across all platforms
- Creates a system of existing-content organization for easy and intuitive access
- Manages archive of digital files and records on cloud server
- Develops and tracks benchmarks and KPIs, and reports regularly on conversions and progress toward goals
- Manages inventory of physical marketing collateral, swag, and other materials

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing, or a related field
- PMP, CAPM, Six Sigma Green Belt certification or commensurate certification plus education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered
- Five years of experience in a project management role for a marketing or communications team
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and decision-making skills
- Experience with project management theory and best practices
- Strong analytical skills
- Good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Professional competency with Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Professional competency with digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Working knowledge of email marketing platforms
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The duties of this job are mainly performed in a regular office environment with occasional small trips outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the building. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
