Job Title: Structural Project Superintendent
Background/Experience: Must have Commercial construction experience which includes, but is not limited to Multi-Family, Warehouse/Industrial, Hospitality (Hotel), Public (Municipal), School, and Sr. Living.
Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Hours: Full-Time
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Base Salary Range: $100,000 to $130,000/year

What You Will Be Doing

  • Attend turnover meetings with Project Estimator to review and understand material, labor, equipment, subcontracts, and general conditions estimates.
  • Review major scopes of work for award of Subcontracts and suggest changes as needed.
  • Prepare and update baseline schedule with input from key Subcontractors, striving for work efficiency.
  • Review shop drawings to ensure accurate product ordering.
  • Manage project site for safety, efficiency, and cleanliness.
  • Foster relationships with Subcontractors and Suppliers.
  • Attend pre-construction and weekly job meetings, provide project updates, and walk the project with the Owner.
  • Meet with Project Manager to review general conditions items and stay within budget.
  • Complete daily reports accurately and timely.
  • Manage field issues with Subcontractors to closure.
  • Prepare detailed work lists for project completion.
  • Evaluate and mentor staff for career progression.
  • Adhere to safety rules and industry standards.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through education and training.
  • Contribute to team building and support for overall achievement.

What You Need for this Position

Background:

  • 10 years of hands-on construction experience holding positions of increasing responsibility, or degree in Engineering or Building Construction and 5 years of hands-on construction experience.
  • Prior experience in successfully building projects similar in size and complexity.
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal structure while exercising great judgment.
  • Must have Commercial construction experience which includes, but is not limited to Multi-Family, Warehouse/Industrial, Hospitality (Hotel), Public (Municipal), School, and/orSr. Living.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
  • Must be a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done; self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement.

Education:

  • Degree in Engineering or Building Construction preferred, experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 Safety Certification
