We are excited to be expanding our Work Assist team in GRM US Claims Property. This job posting is an opportunity to be part of a new group within Property which is changing how we manage our Property Claims. The Work Assist team partners closely with adjusters to quickly review and make decisions around incoming information from customers, contractors and vendors and allow us to process payments for them even faster! We’ve seen great success in our recent pilot and are excited to be expanding this work in the US and Ireland as the way we approach claims going forward.
The Claims Assistant will partner with Property Adjusters to support customers by handling Property-specific tasks such as: reviewing, processing and releasing payments related to contents, additional living expenses and recoverable depreciation. The Claims Assistant will also assist with interpreting policy information, generating updates to estimates, updating contents pricing, completing data entry and content pricing of smaller estimates, identifying variances from approved coverage and processing supplements. Follows procedures and applies advanced-level administrative skills and intermediate level insurance knowledge to accomplish both routine and non-routine tasks and duties.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, evaluates and categorizes incoming Property documents. Verifies information for accuracy/appropriateness and follows up with others for missing or questionable data. Prepares and assembles documents for additional handling by adjusters or for distributing to outside contacts.
  • Enters and retrieves information of varying complexity using systems and applications to update records, obtain information for others, responds independently to most questions and problems with adjusters and verifies questions with customers and vendors.
  • Potentially adjusts a portion of the customers submission.
    Issues payments to customers and vendors based on updates made to the claim.
  • Uses advanced skills and business knowledge to prepare correspondence and process other insurance transactions to provide customer service and support efforts.
  • May handle complex Recoverable Depreciation claims.
  • May complete supplements in alignment with support processes.
  • Uses judgment to determine what additional information may be needed to continue moving the claim forward.
  • Demonstrates subject matter expertise and continuously builds product, procedural and technical systems knowledge.
  • Interacts regularly with Adjusters, providing feedback to the adjusters, as well as, receiving feedback in order to continuously improve.
  • Performs other related support duties as requested.
    Assists with departmental training and communication as needed.
  • Supports and assists with office and or department projects and programs. May assist with quality reviews related to training/transition of work.
  • Mentors new hires by providing onboarding support in coordination with onboarding supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree or equivalent business experience
  • 1-2 years business experience within the insurance industry preferred
  • Obtain and maintain proper licensing as required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills with high degree of attention to detail
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and effectively prioritize work
  • Can monitor, prioritize and manage a pending list of claims activities with time sensitive deadlines of completion
  • Must possess the ability to analyze claims coverage and estimating information making informed decisions on next steps in handing
  • Can quickly assess workstream problems and identify continuous improvement solutions along with their working team
  • Has internal and external service experience focus with required skills in peer to peer feedback, professional communication, and cultural alignment that provide best in class experiences
  • Claims and customer service experience preferred
