Summary/Objective:
The role of the
Plant Purchaser is responsible for purchasing of items needed to support day-to-day operations in the facility, managing factory inventory levels and inventory accuracy.
Essential Functions:
- Review reports and data from computer system and determine purchased items needed, timing of Purchase Orders and quantities.
- Issue Purchase Orders based on requirements.
- Responsible for managing purchase orders, tracking and expediting.
- Data entry of materials received, verify receiving accuracies, and manage any discrepancies between packing list and actual receipt.
- Perform inventory cycle counts and determine adjustments needed.
- Verify vendor acknowledgements and ensure timely delivery.
- Review and resolve back orders and returns.
- Expedite orders as required.
- Prepare report of Daily Shorts for Plant Manager.
- Collaborate with other teams to resolve quantity, quality, and freight issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Responds to inquiries from staff and administration regarding purchasing procedures and status of orders and items.
- Responsible for the proper maintenance of files and documents within department.

Work Environment:
- Works in a plant environment. Office will have air conditioning/heat, but the plant area is not climate controlled.
Physical Demands:
- Be able to lift 50lbs, Walk around plant, Sit at a Desk.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Full Time 40+/hours per week.
Travel:
- Occasional travel may be required to other facilities across the U.S to support projects.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5 years’ purchasing experience - preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic issues.
- Proficiency in English.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Customer-oriented.
