Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 2 Months

Day-to-Day responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • With input from Team Lead and team, develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures.
  • Work with the project team to test updates, patches, and repairs to the application software components in the development, test, and QA environments.
  • Proactively engage in the end-to-end software testing cycle as it pertains to the project.
  • Take corrective action to resolve all issues and problems encountered with testing to ensure the applications perform as required.
  • Provide feedback to project teams regarding process/procedure improvement opportunities and other potential areas for improvement discovered during software quality activities.
  • Work closely with and follow direction from Team Lead.
  • Contribute to all aspects of quality assurance for the project including establishing relevant metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Contribute to the establishment of and meet quality goals and objectives for the project.

The ideal candidate will have the skill specified below:

  • Proven experience defining and developing quality standards across large and complex implementations and systems.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews according to schedule.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to collaborate with supporting resources across business and/or functional lines.
  • Have excellent organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Must meet productivity standards, complete work in timely manner and strive to increase productivity.
  • Communicate and work with customers and other personnel as necessary.
  • Ensure that defined processes are followed.
  • Share knowledge with State staff.
  • Contributes to continuous process improvements to increase the efficiency of QA and development.
  • Organize and prepare work effectively to facilitate proactive resolution of problems, rather than reactive.
  • Able to anticipate and resolve issues dealing with software quality.

REQUIRED:

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study.
  • 10 years required experience testing I.T. products and applications
  • 10 years required experience developing and executing test cases, scripts, plans and procedures both manual and automated
  • 10 years required experience designing, developing test cases and logging defects
  • 7 year required experience working on a project using AGILE methodologies
  • 3 years required experience with Microsoft Team Foundation (TFS)
  • 3 years required experience with Microsoft Test Manager (MTM)
