ABOUT THE JOB

At Danone Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We have an opening for a Quality Compliance Specialist based in our Eugene, Oregon So Delicious manufacturing facility. This high visibility position is responsible for managing and coordinating the regulatory and quality compliance activities at a manufacturing facility. This includes the activities associated with FSSC 22000, the Food Safety Modernization Act, QMS, Non-GMO, Organic and Kosher programs at the facility. This position will assist the QA Manager with all compliance related activities at the facility and function to facilitate all compliance related activities. Quality Manager will assume their duties in their absence.

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate all systems, related to Safe Quality certification
  • Maintain facility good standing
  • Manage training program and ensure required training is completed by Managers and Supervisors
  • Develop and implement QA compliance related training materials
  • Lead the audit for the FSSC 22000 standard
  • Provide backup to the QA Manager as leader of the FSSC 22000 program
  • Lead the annual Management Review of the system at the facility
  • Develop and coordinate corrective action program for audits at the facility
  • Manages completion of plant-wide Food Safety Preventive Controls (FSPCA) Training
  • Maintain Gluten Free program and manages development and implementation of any necessary corrective actions
  • Main contact point for the GFCO
  • Monitors Non-GMO program
  • Manages audits and corrective actions to Organic Compliance Program
  • Manages audits and corrective actions to Kosher Compliance Program
  • QMS SME and ensures compliance to all programs
  • Develops, reviews, and maintains up-to-date all food safety related recording forms
  • Audits all QA related programs for compliance and manages audit related corrective actions
  • Manages training program for the QA related standards
  • Follow up on activities and closure of corrective action programs
  • Assist the QA Manager for the facility audits and inspections
  • Provide support to QA Department for special projects
  • Stay current with key regulatory and certifying agency guidelines
  • Acts as Food Safety Team Leader.
  • Manages Vendor Corrective Action program.
  • Manages plant product specifications
  • Manages plant Calibration Program
  • QMS Standard owner of OS2.23 Identification and Traceability
  • QMS Standard owner of CS1.07 Document and Records Management
  • QMS Standards owner of OS2.17 Environmental Monitoring: EMP of FCS, zone 1, zone 2, and zone 3. Complete vectoring of EMP remediation, participate in root cause analysis and corrective action
  • ETQ Super User
  • Responsible for Food Defense program
  • Acts as Laboratory Supervisor as required to cover absences
  • Other duties as assigned
About you

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field, required.
  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years of combined experience with food/ingredients and food manufacturing experience.
  • You have a FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor Certification preferred, or must obtain soon after employment. Must have an understanding of FSSC 22000 standards.
  • You have a HACCP Certification and HACCP Food Safety and Quality Management required
  • You have strong computer skills and are proficient with MS Office products, can understand basics of SAP.
  • You have knowledge of kosher and organic processes and regulations for food manufacturing.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and can develop trusting relationships. You also are comfortable presenting to large and small groups.
  • You have strong multi-tasking and organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • You can collaborate cross functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
  • You can prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
  • You are a self starter, results driven and can effectively work independently.
  • You can work in fast paced, fluid environment. Able to adjust schedule as needed to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment, which could include working hours outside of a typical day shift schedule
