Job Description Summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, Inc. is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician for its Avon Precast Facility. The successful candidate will report to the facility Quality Control Manager and will be responsible for performing the daily QC functions, including routine tests as required on raw materials, in process components and final product. The position requires the employee to perform a wide range of duties in an industrial indoor and outdoor manufacturing environment included, but not limited to the following:

• Pre-pour inspection checks as required - wet cast and prestress operations
• Post-pour inspection checks as required - wet cast and prestress operations
• Participate in Corrective Action Reports for nonconforming product
• Monitor production operations and reporting of deficiencies as required
• Perform material gradation testing as necessary
• Perform daily wet tests for concrete production pours
• Perform daily compressive strength testing of hardened concrete specimens
• Maintain record keeping of quality documents, reports, inspections, etc.

• Maintain calibration and maintenance of lab equipment as required
• Maintain PCI and DOT certifications
• Assist when necessary with strip, setup, and pouring of products
• Assist with operation and maintenance of Batching System
• Report to management team on process improvements, repetitive mistakes, and quality concerns
• Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Requirements / Education / Experience

• 
  Previous quality control experience in Construction Industry, Precast experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills and understanding of basic math and geometry
• Ability to read/write simple instructions and communicate effectively with team members
• Currently holds (or has the ability to attain within 90 days) Quality Control Certifications including, but not limited to, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician, PCI and Levels 1 and 2
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs periodically throughout the day
