Responsibilities
  • Perform basic maintenance on the vehicles
  • Perform 27 or 12 point safety inspections
  • Lube-oil-filter, rotate tires, headlights, wipers, transmission service, radiator flush, air filters, etc.
  • Communicate with service advisors and customers
  • Test to check systems and components are secure and working properly
  • Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation, clean and lubricate fittings as needed
  • Install a new oil drain plug and new oil filter and communicate oil levels to teammates
  • Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles
  • Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage
  • Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks
  • Attend training and shop meetings
  • Assist technicians as needed
  • Assist porter when needed
Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of automobiles
  • Previous experience or training in a related position
  • Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Professional attitude
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Hours
Monday through Friday- 7AM to 4PM or 9AM to 6PM
Rotating Saturdays- 8AM to 12PM
