Overview:
This position will provide you the opportunity to join a team of about 10 scientists and engineers supporting the US Navy’s submarine launched ballistic missile (SLBM) radiation hardening effort. You will work with the team to perform analysis of the radiation response of electronic component designs. The analysis will be performed at levels of integration from parts to board level to subsystem level. You will also have the opportunity to learn to perform hardening analysis for other radiation effects such as system generated EMP and thermal-mechanical effects. You will also be involved with test plan development for electronic parts and components as well as evaluation of the test results. You will have the opportunity to work with technical staff from organization across the U.S. nuclear weapons complex.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Radiation Hardened Electronics Analyst to join our SLBM Radiation Hardening team in Colorado Springs, CO.
This position will provide you the opportunity to join a team of about 10 scientists and engineers supporting the US Navy’s submarine launched ballistic missile (SLBM) radiation hardening effort. You will work with the team to perform analysis of the radiation response of electronic component designs. The analysis will be performed at levels of integration from parts to board level to subsystem level. You will also have the opportunity to learn to perform hardening analysis for other radiation effects such as system generated EMP and thermal-mechanical effects. You will also be involved with test plan development for electronic parts and components as well as evaluation of the test results. You will have the opportunity to work with technical staff from organization across the U.S. nuclear weapons complex.
Model and simulate the radiation response of electronic parts and perform sensitivity studies on the model parameters- Model and simulate the radiation response of electronic circuits and subsystems and perform sensitivity studies on the model parameters
- Advise and review test plans for electronics radiation testing
- Review the results of rad hard testing of electronics parts and components
- Perform rad hard analysis for other radiation effects on hardware such as system generated EMP and thermal-mechanical effects
- Write and review technical documents
- Develop and present technical briefings to the Navy customer and other industry organizations
- Participate in technical discussions with the Arcfield team as well as representatives from other industry organizations and the Navy customer
- Support the team in any way needed for the team to deliver its work on-time and at a high technical level
Required Experience:
- A BS/BA in engineering or physics with 2+ years of related professional experience, MS/MA in engineering or physics with 0-2 years of related professional experience, or HS with 8+ years related professional experience
- Experience with SPICE simulations
- Experience with PCB layout software
- Experience with software such as C, Python, or MATLAB
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills
- Able to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Willingness to travel periodically
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret/Q clearance
Desired Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with circuit design
- Ability to use electronic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and network analyzers
- Experience in the nuclear weapons complex
- Strong understanding of radiation physics
- Possess an active security clearance
