Purpose of Position:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of communications and electronic equipment IAW appropriate procedures and publications. Troubleshoot and repair current military and commercial radios and equipment. Research appropriate supply/management systems and maintain automated audit and updates procedures. Inspect and perform maintenance actions and determine repair parts. Use diagnostic and test equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair radio and related equipment. Use hand, air and electric tools and shop equipment. Perform clean-up duties and police areas as assigned. Support/participate in Company Continuous Improvement Process (CCIP) and QA Program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential/Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of communications and electronic equipment IAW appropriate procedures and publications

Troubleshoots and repairs current military and commercial radios and equipment

3

Research appropriate supply/management systems and maintains automated audit and updates procedures

Inspects and performs maintenance actions and determines repair parts

5

Uses diagnostic and test equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair radio and related equipment

6

Uses hand, air and electric tools and shop equipment

7

Performs clean-up duties and polices the areas as assigned

8

Supports/participates in the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CCIP) and QA Program

9

Mentors and assists with on-the-job training and cross-training

10

Participates in training and cross-training sessions as required or necessary

11

Complies with all Company rules, policies, and procedures

12

Complies with all safety, environmental and quality standards and applicable COPs and DOPs

13

Provides for the accountability and proper care of all GFE/CFE

14

Favorably interacts with internal/external customers

15

Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Education:

· High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Minimum Experience:

· Two (2) years verifiable experience in repair and maintenance of current Combat, Tactical and Commercial Communication equipment (SINGARS required) BFT2 W/KGV72 AND MRT

· Must understand and be able to use technical manuals

· Relevant experience must include at least six months experience in the current position except employees are promoting to a higher rated position.

Field of Expertise:

· Communication electronics installation and repair

· US Army CMF 25 series or MOS 94E

Skills; Administrative:

· Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently

· Writes performance evaluation comments and reports when placed in a control/assignment directive role.

Mental Requisites:

· Works under stressful circumstances and meets short suspense dates

· Performs other duties as assigned

· Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist or perform functions in alternate areas of the project.

Supervisory Experience:

· Not required

Unique Qualifications:

· Must possess a DOD Secret clearance or ability to acquire it.

· Must be able to meet CMF 25 series or MOS 94E criteria in accordance with DA PAM 611- 21

· Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a military operator’s permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to operate.

· Must be a United States citizen or be authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Factors

Physical Requirements:

· Position requires that duties be completed, in, under, and on top of vehicles.

· The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, crouch, stoop, balance, kneel, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear, utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift, bend, etc.

· Vision use is required for reading and computer use.

· Semi-frequent stressful conditions

· Frequently work in outdoor weather conditions.

· Frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds with 2 people.

· Ascend / descend a ladder.

· Operate a motor vehicle, must have driver’s license, and may be required to meet base license requirements.

· Frequently operate computers or other equipment as needed.

Physical Demands:

· Must be free of medical restrictions/limitations that prevent the performance of required duties.

· Must be able to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

· Must be physically capable of performing the work in conditions of extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain, blowing sand, and dust.

· Employee shall utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices associated with all lifting and material handling tasks that are assigned and associated with this job description.

· May be required to work uncommon hours of duty, extended hours of duty, extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
