POSITION SUMMARY: The Radiologic Technologist performs high quality radiologic exams according to department protocols; under the supervision of a qualified Physician for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The technologist provides direct patient care for all ages of patients and is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for the patients, fellow employees, and themselves. This position performs procedures to include x-ray, CT, bone densitometry, and mammography, if applicable, and performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative in applying ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

-Produce diagnostic images in an acceptable and high-quality manner to be interpreted by the radiologist.
-Assist in performing and maintaining all QA testing required.
-Assist providers as required in the performance of fluoroscopic examinations.
-Consult with providers and radiologists.
-Adhere to the ALARA principles.
-Follow all safety requirements and regulations that pertain to services performed by the department.
-Train of other team members to perform radiologic imaging, meeting quality and safety standards.
-Responsible for the procurement, storage, and utilization of modality and departmental supplies.
-Assist in maintaining proper imaging and reporting in PACS.
-Keep up to date of new procedures, equipment, and methods.
-Must be knowledgeable of state and federal confidentiality laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, and be familiar with and follow all policies, procedures and instructions regarding the privacy and security of protected health information applicable to the position.
-Must be able to work occasional on-call shifts, evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have graduated from an accredited radiology program. Current registry in good standing with ARRT. BLS certification required. Must be licensed in the state of Nebraska.
