Job Summary

The Real Estate Coordinator is a new position at RWJBarnabas Health and will initially report to the EVP of Facilities Management and Real Estate Development. This position will be the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on items related to leasing and real estate transactions and will be responsible for driving positive results in the proactive management of the real estate portfolio. The position will work to help advance the mission of the system by executing on strategic needs to drive efficiency by placing sites of care in the most convenient locations for our patients. The position will continually evaluate the real estate portfolio and processes of the real estate department to ensure that both are optimized.

Essential Job Functions

• Support RWJBHs real estate department by managing the workflow of lease approvals and other property related agreements/transactions
• Assist with the collection and review of Fair Market Value appraisals and opinions of value, lead communications with internal and external stakeholders to obtain agreement on terms
• Document real estate processes, identify gaps in processes, and assist in implementing changes where necessary
• Assist in the collection and tracking of forms related to new leases and renewals
• Assist Lease Administration with monitoring critical lease dates, notifying the appropriate business units, and following up with information necessary to make real estate decisions
• Assist EVP of Facilities Management & Real Estate Development to coordinate communications between Strategy, Medical Group and Service Line Leadership ensure the real estate portfolio is managed efficiently
• Assist with site visits to evaluate consolidation and growth opportunities for the ambulatory footprint
• Coordinate with real estate brokers and landlords to communicate details surrounding site selection, negotiation and transaction management
• Assist joint venture partners in communications and decision making related to real estate strategy and execution
• Create presentations to communicate portfolio metrics and progress toward stated goals
• Work with real estate team to evaluate the locations within the portfolio to develop strategic plans for each location
• Conduct market research to ensure alternatives are evaluated and all economics are competitive

Job Requirements

• Bachelors Degree, required
• Ability to communicate with employees and clients at all levels
• Previous Project Coordinator experience preferred
• Experience managing multiple tasks, documents and interpreting data as needed
• Ability to work in a fast pace team environment
