YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS OUR RECOVERY SPECIALIST

As you step into your role as a Recovery Specialist with our human services nonprofit, you find yourself immersed in a supportive and uplifting environment where you make a positive impact on individuals' lives every single day. You start the morning by setting up for the day's activities. You ensure that you are prepared for the weekly parenting and/or recovery groups you are facilitating. In this peer support role, you are constantly creating an inclusive and welcoming space for participants to share their experiences and support one another. As the group members arrive, you greet them with a warm smile and ensure they feel comfortable and valued.

During the peer support group session at our human services nonprofit, you guide the discussions, providing insightful prompts and fostering an atmosphere of empathy and understanding. Your cheerful tone encourages active participation and empowers the participants to share their challenges, triumphs, and goals. You skillfully facilitate the conversations, allowing everyone to contribute while maintaining a respectful and supportive environment.

After the group session at our human services nonprofit, you check in with each participant individually, offering one-on-one support when needed. Your compassionate approach helps build trust and rapport, making it easier for individuals to open up about their struggles and seek guidance. You listen attentively, provide empathetic advice, and connect them to additional resources if necessary. Your dedication to their well-being shines through in every interaction. Next as a Recovery Specialist with our human services nonprofit, you coordinate, schedule, and conduct intakes for individual sessions. You ensure that each member provides proper consent, completes comprehensive intake forms, including the BARC-10 assessment, and maintains high-quality documentation that is securely retained. Your attention to detail ensures accurate records, supporting the continuity and effectiveness of the recovery program.

As a knowledgeable Recovery Specialist, you understand and apply the regulations outlined in 42 CFR Part II to the recovery community practice setting. Your expertise ensures that the privacy and confidentiality of each participant are respected and protected throughout their journey to recovery. You also coordinate the weekly mutual aid meetings, ensuring adequate participation and clear communication among facilitators. You update the social media platforms in accordance with the daily schedule and special events, spreading the word about the positive impact of Granite Pathways.

To encourage new participants, you actively engage in community outreach. By attending local events, distributing informational materials, and connecting with relevant organizations, you help raise awareness about Granite Pathways and its ongoing meetings and recovery programming. Your enthusiasm for the cause shines through, attracting individuals seeking support and a sense of belonging. Each day you diligently keep track of current and accurate data, documenting program participation, new members, center activities, special events, and peer support services. Your attention to detail allows the organization to measure its impact and make informed decisions to improve and expand its services.

As a team player, you assist in coordinating and scheduling volunteers. You ensure that at least one volunteer is on-site at all times during working hours, creating a welcoming and safe environment for participants. Additionally, you contribute to the development of the volunteer corps program, helping to engage and empower volunteers who share the vision of Granite Pathways. You continuously embrace flexibility and adaptability as you take on other related duties and projects as assigned. Your versatility and dedication to the organization's mission allow you to contribute in various ways and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals on their recovery journey. Here's what we need from you:

  • Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of network and computer systems

A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills to join our peer support staff. This problem solver should have fantastic time management and organizational skills. We need a driven individual with a passion for helping those in their community succeed to become a part of our thriving human services nonprofit.
