The Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator identifies and recruits CASA volunteers from our four-county service area in accordance with the strategic plan and grant goals. This position will also participate in a variety of outreach and recruitment activities and community events, fundraising and special events.
The Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator is a grant funded position. Incumbent is required to submit written reports to be submitted to the funding agency. These reports include, but are not limited to: mileage, hours, contacts, recruitment activities, statistics of new and retained volunteers, etc. Failure to do so in the required time period will result in a potential loss of funding and the position being cancelled.
This position is a 5-month long, 35 hour per week temporary positions, with an opportunity for an extension determined by funding availability. Hours are mainly Monday-Friday daytime hours. However, flexibility in scheduling is a must, as agency needs vary. This position will be based in our Galesburg office.
Qualifications & Skills Required
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· The ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds communicate effectively, prioritize agency needs, adapt to changing circumstances, and maintain a high-level of confidentiality is required.
· A background check and fingerprinting clearance is required prior to employment.
A great applicant would be someone who has never met a stranger, is familiar with the Central Illinois community, has had public speaking experience, can think creatively, and has the drive to meet volunteer recruitment goals and ensure that there is a CASA Volunteer for every child who needs one. Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop in collaboration with the Executive Director a plan of action for community education and outreach.
- Execute and implement the recruitment and community outreach portion of the strategic plan and grant goals emphasizing diversity, equity and inclusion for all outreach strategies and activities.
· Research and secure speaking engagements.
- Distribute press releases and informational packets; coordinate the design of targeted and impactful community outreach materials; edit recruitment content on website.
- Host CASA Information Sessions, and recruitment and educational events onsite, virtually or in the field in various communities in Knox, Warren, Henderson, and McDonough, Il Counties. Candidates must have reliable transportation to attend events.
- Solicit individuals to inform them of ways to volunteer for CASA, including but not limited to advocacy, in kind services, board service, donation opportunities, and other support.
- Maintain volunteer database, spreadsheets and calendar of recruitment activities and provide regular progress reports to the Executive Director and other CASA staff.
- Reply to inquiries (email, calls, website).
- Participate in a variety of fundraising and special events, and other community events, as needed.
- Collaborate with County departments, community-based organizations and service providers to mobilize resources and support for CASA program needs.
- Participate in internal and external meetings with CASA staff, local, statewide, and national CASA affiliates, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
