Job purpose
Referral Coordinator/Front Desk Assistant serves patients by processing incoming referrals, scheduling referrals, and fostering relationships with referring offices. This person will also assist the front desk role by responding to incoming calls, greeting and helping patients, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and maintaining records and accounts.
Duties and responsibilities
Primary job duties and responsibilities of the Referral Coordinator/Front Desk Assistant are:
- Provide great customer service to our patients.
- Process all incoming referrals via fax, email, and phone
- Maintain record of all incoming referrals
- Fax referral letters with clinical notes to referring providers
- Foster relationships with referring providers
- Provide support to front desk by answering incoming calls and scheduling appointments, optimizing patients’ satisfaction by completing the check in and check out process accurately, maintaining patients’ accounts by recording, and updating personal and financial information accurately, collecting payments for services from patients at time of appointment, completing all follow up tasks and chart maintenance as required using electronic health records
- Maintain work area clean and organized including the waiting room
- Assist other office personnel with tasks as deemed necessary
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills and good telephone etiquette.
- High level of organizational skills, able to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in the use of computer programs and office equipment.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, type 60 wpm.
- Detail oriented, willing to learn and highly motivated Self-Starter with the ability to work independently and as a team.
Expectations
Working in a small office comes with autonomy and potential for pay raises as you grow with this practice. We are a small team, one physician office. We are looking for candidates who are excited about being a part of our friendly, and growing team!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
