Regional Elevator Health & Safety Manager
This is a full-time, exempt level position

Job Summary
The Regional Elevator Health & Safety Manager will provide strategic leadership, direction and guidance regarding Health & Safety standards and systems with approximately 140 Grain and Edible Bean Elevator locations in the United States. The incumbent will be responsible for collaboration with a diverse group of health & safety professionals and plant personnel, and will maintain oversight of Health & Safety performance in supported facilities and support continuous improvement. The incumbent will collaborate with locations teams to meet legal and ADM expectations. This position will report to the Global Health & Safety Director, and will have approximately 10 direct reports.

Essential Job Functions
  • Facilitate training and development of direct reports and Health & Safety contacts
  • Assist direct reports in developing goals and plans, support completion and hold them accountable
  • Serve as the primary Health and Safety contact and support for the Grain & Edible Bean Elevator locations. The level of support needed will vary from location to location and will be dependent on location operations, staffing, and complexity of compliance requirements
  • Provide effective implementation of standardized ADM Health and Safety programs and systems to ensure compliance with company and local requirements
  • Establish a sustainable Health and Safety improvement culture
  • Monitor, evaluate and report Health and Safety performance of supported facilities and suggest corrective and preventive actions to further improve performance
  • Conduct effective comprehensive health and safety audits which evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs and training, identify deficiencies and present solutions
  • Involvement in health and safety training
  • Lead and/or participate in incident investigations
  • Recognize hazards, conducts risk assessments and recommend controls and actions
  • Manage all health & safety reporting requirements within the Area
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the field of Occupational Health & Safety, engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years’ work experience in a health and safety position, significant grain elevator experience
Job Requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability to lead, coach, and build consensus
  • Ability and experience in public presentation
  • Ability to write standard operating procedures, programs, and training
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrated by experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively and enthusiastically on a team
  • Analytical problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Effective use of Microsoft office applications and Data Based Systems
  • Fluent in English – additional useful languages: Spanish
  • Ability to travel – variable up to 50%, sometimes reactionary on short notice
