Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Position Type: Part-time (at least 3 shifts per week including one weekend day), hourly non-exempt

Hours: Primarily evenings (3:30-6:30) and weekends based on client availability.

Location: Registered Behavior Technicians work in the client home(s)

Reports to: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)/Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)

Benefits:
o Pay rate ranges from $19-$25 per hour based on experience, level of education and other certifications. Probationary pay rates available for staff who have not yet completed their RBT credentialing process.

o Mileage $0.50 per mile after first 10 miles to/from home and all miles between clients/clinic
o Supervision by Board Certified Behavior Analyst that meets BACB requirements for Supervised Independent Fieldwork

Registered Behavior Technician Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A RBT

● Implement individualized treatment plans as written and directed by BCBA/BCaBA with children and young adults ages 2-26 diagnosed with autism

● Document client progress through portal system by recording data

● Complete required session and scheduling documentation

● Attend scheduled trainings and team meetings

● Uphold professional ethics as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) RBT Ethics Code

● Uphold best practices, and the mission, vision, and values of BASES Autism Services as outlined by the Staff Handbook

● Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS OF A RBT:

● High School diploma or equivalent

● Age 21 or older

● Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Illinois' driving requirements with dependable means of transportation

● Proof of COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with FDA guidance

● RBT Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment

● Demonstrate ability to implement ABA strategies outlined on the RBT Task List

● Safety-Care or Safety-Care for Families Specialist Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment

● CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment

● Works both independently as well as part of a team

● Empathetic and supportive with staff, clients and families

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF A RBT:

Ability to stand and move around, get up and down from the floor or a chair, and otherwise able to play with a child for several hours at a time

● Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time

● Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observing students

● Must be able to physically intervene in a quick manner to assist or protect a child (for example, run after a child, block a child from harming self or others, soften a child’s fall, assist a child with toileting by lifting the child onto the toilet or changing a diaper on the floor, providing hand over hand assistance for washing hands)

● Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection

● Ability to hear and understand speech at normal speech levels, in the English language

● Must be able to receive detailed information through verbal communication

● Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation

● Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

● Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels

● Ability to utilize Safety-Care Training and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the behavior intervention plan when interacting with individuals that may be displaying physically aggressive, self-injurious, or socially inappropriate behavior

● Daily travel moving between client residences in the Chicagoland area
